Food has always been a central point in my scheme of things. In fact, the wife says that whatever little I speak inevitably leads to food. Today, for breakfast I had a high cholesterol simple french toast which hardly takes about two minutes :-

Ingredients :-

1. Two eggs
2. Three slices of bread
3. Quarter cup of milk
4. A tablespoon of oil/butter
5. Salt and pepper to taste

Method :-

Break the eggs into a flat bottomed dish and beat the eggs with a quarter teaspoon salt and two pinches of pepper powder. Add milk. A teaspoon of powdered sugar can be added if you have a sweet tooth like me. Mix well.

Heat a sauce pan and pour the oil or use butter/margarine as you might prefer. Cut the bread slices into two equal parts. Dip a part into the egg mixture.

When the oil gets heated - say after about 20 seconds, slowly put the slice into it. Two parts at a time. turn over after another twenty seconds. When done (say another 20 seconds) take it from the saucepan and into your plate on a tissue if you are health conscious. Repeat till you finish your slices.

French toast goes well with tomato sauce.

Bon appetite
